Dr. Susana Sargento
University of Aveiro / Instituto de Telecomunicaçoes, Portugal
Prof. Susana Sargento is a Full Professor at the University of Aveiro, a Senior Researcher leading the Network Architectures and Protocols group at Instituto de Telecomunicações (IT), where she serves as President of the Scientific Council, and a Scientific Director of the CMU Portugal Program. With over 500 publications focusing on self-organized networks, Intelligent Transportation Systems, and 5G and beyond architectures, she has spearheaded major research initiatives including large-scale sensing platforms in Porto and Aveiro (Aveiro TechCity Living Lab). Beyond academia, she co-founded the vehicular networking spin-off Veniam, serves as an independent board member at Martifer SA, and has been recognized with prestigious honors such as the 2016 EU Prize for Women Innovators and the Femina 2020 Prize in Science.
Dr. Periklis Chatzimisios
Hellenic University, Greece
Prof. Periklis Chatzimisios is a Professor in the Department of Information and Electronic Engineering at International Hellenic University (Greece), a Researcher Professor at the University of New Mexico (USA), and a Visiting Fellow at Bournemouth University (UK). A prominent leader in global standardization and IEEE activities, he serves as Vice-Chair of WG1 and Chair of WI213 for the one6G Association, as well as an active contributor across several IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc) boards and initiatives. Throughout his career, he has led and participated in numerous international research and development projects as a coordinator, scientific officer, and working group chair. Recognized among the Top 2% Most Influential Scientists globally by Stanford University (2020–2024), his work focuses on networking, telecommunications, and 6G technologies.
Mauricio Kobayashi
Keysight, Brazil
Mauricio is a Key Account Manager with over 25 years of experience in the Aerospace and Wireless markets. An Electronic Engineering graduate from ITA (Brazilian Air Force Engineering College), he began his career at Hewlett-Packard in 1998 as an Application Engineer specializing in RF, Wireless, and Optical instrumentation, later expanding into the Aerospace and Defense sector at Agilent by delivering advanced test solutions for radar, electronic warfare, and missile systems. Since 2019, he has served in Business Development at Keysight Technologies, driving the adoption of 5G, NTN, Open RAN, and 6G technologies across Brazil.
