CONASENSE Workshop “Advancing 6G via International Research to Standardisation Synergies”

The workshop aims to showcase forefront 6G research and to examine how emerging results are being systematically pipelined towards future 6G standardisation. A central focus is to foster dialogue between research and standardisation communities, with an interdisciplinary and international perspective grounded in CONASENSE research and complemented by contributions from leading experts from Brazil, India, Japan, and the Republic of Korea.

Advanced and Emerging Wireless Technologies toward Human-Centric Connectivity Beyond 2030

Society 5.0 envisions a human-centric society in which physical space and cyberspace are seamlessly integrated to promote economic development while addressing societal challenges arising from geographical distance, limited mobility, and physical constraints. To realize this vision beyond 2030, it is crucial to develop and employ wireless systems that are intelligent, adaptable, and resilient. Beyond 5G (B5G) and 6G systems are expected to integrate terrestrial networks (TN) with non-terrestrial networks (NTN) including satellite constellations, high-altitude platform stations (HAPS), and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), thereby creating flexible three-dimensional communication infrastructures. Together with AI-enabled network optimization, advanced spectrum utilization, and innovative wireless technologies, these infrastructures will support human-centric applications such as cybernetic avatars (CA), telepresence, and teleoperation. Such applications enable people to participate in social and economic activities regardless of their physical location, mobility, or capabilities.

This workshop aims to bring together research communities that often discuss these challenges separately:

  1. Researchers developing advanced TN/NTN communication technologies;
  2. Researchers developing wireless emulation, digital twins, and reproducible evaluation methodologies for B5G/6G system;
  3. Researchers and practitioners developing human-centric applications that will operate over these networks.


By connecting infrastructure technologies, evaluation platforms, and application requirements, the workshop will promote interdisciplinary discussions on how future wireless systems can deliver meaningful human-centric connectivity beyond 2030. 
The workshop is closely aligned with the WPMC 2026 theme “Toward Society 5.0: 6G, AI, Quantum Technologies, and Sustainable Green Connectivity Beyond 2030.” It will address visions, technical challenges, system requirements, enabling technologies, evaluation methodologies, and emerging applications related to future wireless connectivity. 

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: 

  • B5G/6G system architectures and requirements for human-centric connectivity 
  • Advanced terrestrial wireless systems and TN/NTN integration 
  • Advanced RF and optical wireless communication technologies for NTN, including satellites, HAPS, and UAVs 
  • Wireless emulation, digital twins, and reproducible evaluation methodologies for B5G/6G systems 
  • AI and machine learning for intelligent, adaptive, and resilient wireless systems 
  • Dynamic spectrum sharing, advanced spectrum utilization, and flexible network optimization 
  • Integration of public and non-public networks 
  • Coverage extension, disaster resilience, and connectivity in rural, remote, maritime, and other underserved areas 
  • CAs, telepresence, teleoperation, and immersive human-centric services 
  • Wireless communications for cyber-physical systems, IoT, UAVs, and smart mobility
